Decided to go with VW Golf GTi 2 litre petrol engine by Coast VW. I debated whether between petrol and diesel for a while, but ended up going with the petrol as they have less issues if only run short distances. Although I intend to travel a lot in the bus, I know there will be 6 months of the year over the winter when I’ll just be doing short local trips to keep it running well.

• Golf GTi engine, fully serviced
• Fuel system upgrade
  • Injection fuel tank
  • New Bosch fuel pump
  • Fuel pump chassis mounting kit
  • E10 rated fuel lines
  • E10 rated fuel breather lines
• New clutches
• New exhaust system in stainless steel
• New loom
• New coolant system on the engine side
• New fuel tank (stainless steel)

Pictures of the following work:

• New fuel tank fitted.
• Front to rear coolant pipes fitted.
• Old engine removed.
• Bell housing swapped on gearbox.
• New head gasket, cam belt, water pump fitted to golf engine.

Next stage will be to finish engine and fit it into van
