Getting on the road

Here’s the work that was undertaken to get the bus MOT’d and on the road.

Labour
To collect vehicle, to present vehicle for Mot and assess repairs, to remove rear wheels/drums to disconnect offside rear static brake pipes and handbrake cable etc, To remove
rear springs, shock absorbers, offside rear hub assembly disconnect driveshaft etc and remove offside corroded rear subframe (cut bolts all bushes seized in subframes), To
carry out welding repairs to replace offside rear outer suspension mount and inner sill to repair nearside inner arch area, to repair nearside subframe spring mount, to replace rear
wishbone bush bolts, refit offside wishbone, springs, shock absorbers, rear hub assembly etc replace rear static brake pipes, refit, bleed and adjust brakes. to remove and replace
nearside front brake caliper, to remove and replace both front discs swap/replace bearings replace pads, refit the above, To replace rear tailgate support struts rectify wipers, front
number plate, pedal rubber, oil buzzer etc, drain and change fuel refit above re-test and test drive vehicle. To replace leisure battery rectify poor terminals and test charging.

  • Battery Offside rear subframe and bolts etc
  • Nearside rear subframe repair panel and bolts etc
  • Offside rear subframe mount inner sill and jacking point
  • Welding/painting materials/panels
  • Brake pipes, nearside front brake caliper
  • Front brake disc x2
  • Front brake pads and front bearing kit
  • Front number plate, pedal rubber
  • Wiper blades, tail gate struts x2,
  • Fuel

Note: I’ve been told the welding is good, but the leisure battery was duff first time I used it 😑
