Bought me a bed!

I have insulation, walls, floor and a portable cool box… the next thing I needed to get camping comfortably is a bed.

There are a tonne of these to be had! M1 tested, metal with seat belts which are MOT worthy (or not!) or self built.

I’d love to have a sturdy metal rock and roll bed/chair in the back with belts so I can give lifts.  but in reality I don’t have kids and most of the time it’s just me and my husband Darren.  In addition, I’m working to a tight budget and just need to get up and running.  For this reason, I immediately ruled out M1 tested.  It might be different if I had kids, but I could not justify spending around a £1000 on a bed.  Because I have limited DIY experience (at least at this point of the build!) I was looking for a mid-price metal rock and roll bed, around the £500 mark.

However, a pre-made wooden rock and roll bed/chair came up on ebay for around £70.  It came out of a T5 and is now proudly sitting in my T4!  It takes up a bit more space than I’d like, but it is solidly built, cheap and was easy to install with a few metal brackets.  Most importantly, it got me a comfy bed that I could use straight away!

One day I might upgrade, but for now I’m super happy.  The foam on this is a deep 5-6inches deep and sooo much more comfortable than a lot of the professionally installed beds with 3 or 4 inch foam!
